| Ramyat had a bad youth in her native Cabilis: her father a drunk who often ended his nights in the gutter and her mother an egotistical lizard past her best who resented the world for having dealt her a bad hand. Ramyat had more strength of character than that. She started working hard as an assistant alchemist but suffered a serious knockback when the boss, whom she had developed an almost schoolgirlish crush on, disappeared in the night to avoid debts -- including 2 months back pay which he owed her. She took it badly. Resolving not to put her faith in lizards again, she used the basic knowledge she had acquired as an apprentice to teach herself necromancy. Although she is unfailingly polite, sometimes almost friendly, to those she meets, she is clearly a loner and there is a coldness in her eyes that no lizard has managed to get past. Her life is now centred around killing and increasing her skill. |
